Little Things, Big Uses

If you want to survive you don't have to have high tech stuff.  Simple things can be made into very useful survival items.  Here are some ideas.

Creative items, simple stuff

Sticks can be made into spears, fishing rods, and more.  Rocks can be filed down to make knives and hatchets.  Plastic bottles at a stream can be made into a minnow trap and be used (after you wash it out) as a container if you cut the top off to make a wider hole.   More can be said, but that's all for now.

  1. One thing to remember about improvising gear is that knives are nearly impossible to have descently made out of anything other than metal. Axe or club heads can be fashioned reasonably well, but broken shards of glass is about the best you otherwise get. Sometimes a skilled person can get something and I won't go into the details right now, but suffice to say that there are many valid reasons why the survival saying exists of if you can only have one thing, make it a good sturdy knife.
